SB 650: County and Municipality Homestead Tax Exemption

GENERAL BILL by Flores

County and Municipality Homestead Tax Exemption; Revising the homestead tax exemption that may be adopted by a county or municipality by ordinance for the assessed value of property with a just value less than $250,000 which is owned by persons age 65 or older who meet certain residence and income requirements; specifying that just value shall be determined at the time of the owner’s initial application for the exemption, etc.

Effective Date: On the same date that Senate Joint Resolution 652, or a similar joint resolution having substantially the same specific intent and purpose, takes effect, if such joint resolution is approved by the electors at the general election to be held in November 2016 or at an earlier special election specifically authorized by law for that purpose
