SB 860: Specialty License Plates

GENERAL BILL by Perry

Specialty License Plates; Requiring an organization that seeks authorization to establish a certain specialty license plate to submit to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles specified information; deleting requirements related to the submission of an art design to the department if the plate is approved by law; requiring the department to establish a certain method to issue a specialty license plate voucher within a specified period after the specialty license plate approval by the department, instead of after the plate becomes law; prohibiting an out-of-state entity from applying or being approved for a specialty license plate, etc.

Effective Date: Except as otherwise expressly provided in this act, this act shall take effect October 1, 2020, but only if SB 862 or similar legislation takes effect, if such legislation is adopted in the same legislative session or an extension thereof and becomes a law
