911 Public Safety Telecommunicators; Revising the definition of “first responder” to include 911 public safety telecommunicators; expanding eligibility for certain workers’ compensation benefits for first responders to include 911 public safety telecommunicators; revising criteria in the Special Risk Class of the Florida Retirement System to include members employed as 911 public safety telecommunicators; requiring such members to have their retirement benefits calculated in accordance with provisions for Regular Class members; declaring that the act fulfills an important state interest, etc.
