GENERAL BILL by Maney
Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles ; Requires certain drivers found to be operating commercial motor vehicles in certain condition to complete specified examination, test, & vehicle inspection; authorizes tax collectors to deliver by mail or make available at tax collector's office certificates of title; provides that certain applications may be fulfilled by tax collector acting as authorized agent of DHSMV; authorizes DHSMV & tax collectors to deliver certain documents, including duplicate registration certificates, in person or by mail; revises time period for which disabled parking permit is valid; revises year by which Legislature intends that transition of certain services to certain tax collectors be complete; removes provision authorizing such transition of services to appointed charter county tax collectors on limited basis; provides that tax collector is, rather than may be, designated exclusive agent of DHSMV for specified purpose; requires certain driver license applicants to retake certain examinations; prohibits such applicants from retaking examination for specified period; requires that certain driver license applicants pay specified fine; authorizes tax collector to process certain transactions using DHSMV's online license & registration portal; authorizes tax collector to offer to licensee or prospective licensee certain donation option; authorizes certain persons whose driving privileges have been revoked based solely on certain convictions to petition DHSMV for reinstatement of driving privileges; requires revocation of restricted driving privilege for specified period in certain circumstances; removes provision providing that certain service fee is not required.
