HB 1207: Ambulatory Surgical Centers

Ambulatory Surgical Centers; Specifies requirements for issuance, denial, suspension, & revocation of ambulatory surgical center licenses; requires AHCA to make or cause to be made specified inspections of licensed facilities; requires each licensed facility to maintain & provide upon request records of all inspection reports pertaining to that facility; requires that specified provisions govern the design, construction, erection, alteration, modification, repair, & demolition of licensed facilities; prohibits any person from paying or receiving commission, bonus, kickback, or rebate or engaging in any split-fee arrangement for referring patient to licensed facility; prohibits licensed facility from denying, for specified reason, applications of certain licensed health care practitioners for staff membership & clinical privileges; requires licensed facilities to provide for peer review of certain physicians & develop procedures to conduct such reviews; requires licensed facilities to establish internal risk management program; requires specified reporting; requires agency to adopt specified rules relating to minimum standards for licensed facilities; requires licensed facility to provide timely & accurate financial information & quality of service measures to certain individuals; requires licensed facilities to make certain health-related data available on its website; prohibits certain collection actions by licensed facility; requires licensed facility to furnish, in timely manner, true & correct copy of all patient records to certain persons.
