GENERAL BILL by Commerce Committee ; Housing, Agriculture & Tourism Subcommittee ; Redondo ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Nix

Affordable Housing; Authorizes multifamily & mixed-use residential uses as allowable uses for specified property; provides requirements for certain proposed developments; prohibits counties & municipalities from having certain restrictions or requiring certain setbacks; requires adoption of certain ordinances relating to accessory dwelling units; prohibits such ordinances from including certain requirements; provides exception to certain local governments; removes requirement for specified affidavit in building permit application; prohibits owners of certain property from being denied homestead exemption; requires certain accessory dwelling units to be assessed & taxed separately; authorizes applicants for certain proposed developments to proceed under certain provisions of law; requires counties & municipalities to allow certain applicants to submit revised applications, written requests, or notices of intent; provides that specified provisions of law relating to proposed developments do not apply to airport zoning regulations unless approved by governing body; authorizes local governments to provide certain incentives to landowners who donate property to provide affordable housing for military families; prohibits certain discriminatory practices based on financing of development for affordable housing; waiving state's sovereign immunity for certain causes of action; requires OPPAGA to evaluate certain methods to stimulate construction & use of tiny homes for specified purpose & submit to Legislature certain report.
