HB 1471: Systems of Law and Terrorist Organizations

GENERAL BILL by Cassel ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Baker ; Bankson ; Benarroch ; Black ; Borrero ; Cobb ; Conerly ; Griffitts ; Holcomb ; Jacques ; Kendall ; Miller ; Nix ; Salzman

Systems of Law and Terrorist Organizations; Prohibits application of certain law in adjudicatory proceedings in manner that violates constitutional right; provides person who knowingly provides or attempts or conspires to provide material support or resources to domestic terrorist organization commits specified crime; provides that person who willfully becomes member of domestic terrorist organization & serves under direction or control of such organization with specified intent commits specified crime; provides powers and duties of Chief of Domestic Security; authorizes designated organization to seek judicial review; prohibits state agencies, political subdivisions, & public school districts from expending certain public funds to support organization designated domestic terrorist organization or foreign terrorist organization; requires FDLE to adopt rules; revises eligibility & obligations of private schools that participate in state school choice scholarship program; prohibits certain institutions from expending public funds to promote, support, or maintain programs or campus activities that advocate for domestic terrorist organizations or foreign terrorist organizations; requires that certain students of Florida College System institutions & state universities be immediately expelled & assessed out-of-state fees; provides that certain students of school districts & Florida College System institutions are ineligible for specified fee waivers; prohibits students who promote domestic terrorist organization or foreign terrorist organizations from being awarded certain public institution funds.
