Collaborative effort by City of Ft. Pierce, St. Lucie County, St. Lucie School Board, Ft. Pierce Housing Authority, Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County and Indian River Community College to construct 38,000 sf facility to serve county and surrounding areas.50% of inner city Ft. Pierce residents are defined as within 150% of poverty.75% of students receive free lunch.1 out of 7 in proposed site have not completed 8th grade and 1 out of 4 do not have a high school diploma.Per capita income for inner city Ft. Pierce is 32% below state average.
