Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

Upon referral, an in-house Florida Licensed, Board Certified Psychiatrist will conduct a psychiatric evaluation with the resident, which may result in the prescription of a regime of medication. When evaluated by the Behavioural Health Psychiatrist and determined to be prescribed medications, these medications will be available to residents within 24 hours, 90% of the time. The doctor will complete a comprehensive report with a "Global Assessment of Functioning" (GAF) score. The GAF is monitored during subsequent sessions for indications of change in the resident's condition.Of the residents seeing the psychiatrict, an indication of harm reduction is improvement in one's Global Assessment of Functioning Score, (GAF), completed by the psychiatrist following each session with a resident.Improvement is defined as any GAF score that is higher than previous scores. As an indicator of improved engagement 50% of the adult residents admitted will remain in residence after 30 days.Of the approximate 1020 individuals admitted annually (510 semi-annually) with substance abuse and/or mental health problems admitted to the Homeless Assistance Shelter, 50%, or approximately 510 annually (255 semiannually) engage in further substance abuse or mental health services at the Homeless Assistance Center, as evidenced by Behavioural Health Service records.
