Funding is sought to complete the final desighn for "Segment 2" of the Cascades Greenway, which adjoins the State Capital Complex.�� Completion of the hydraulic studies and final design over next two years will allow construction of the community's highest priority project to begin as soon as local capital improvement funds become available.The property targeted for analysis is state-owned.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

The Cascades Greenway Linear Park is an integral component of the "Gaines Street Redevelopment Project."Design and construction of this protion of the Cascades Greenway will provide an anchor to the Gaines Street redevelopment initiaive and will address significant stormwater mangement deficiencies in downtown Tallassee, which includes the state office complex.The Cascades Greenway will function as urban open space and would incorporate bicyle and pedestrian facilites and a series of stormwater treatment ponds an dconveyances.The Greenway would complement the Gaines Street transportion corridor, which has been the highest priority project of te Tallassee-Leon County Metropolitan corridor, which has been the highest priority project for the Tallassee-Leon County Metropolitan Planning Organiztion (MPO) for the past two years.Tully implemented, the Greenway would interconnect the Capital Complex, downtown Tallahassee, the area's two state universites, and two historical neighborhoods.
