Statewide Interest:
Through services provided to the community by these teams, there will be fewer unnecessary involuntary commitments to mental health facilities under the Baker Act, resulting in substantial Medicaid or Medicare cost savings ($2,016,000 + per year) to the taxpayer. This program works in complete cooperation and support of numerous public and private agencies in achieving this goal. Data is collected monthly, reported to the Department of Children and Families and reviewed for discussion in monthly meetings.

Project Description:
Oakwood Center proposes to continue to provide on-site mental health counseling and stabilization of crises to acute and severe mentally ill citizens of Palm Beach County in order to reduce the number of Baker Acts for that population
