Project Description:
Community Reconstruction Housing, Inc. (CRH) is a non-profit, community-based organization headquartered in Broward County FL. CRH specializes in crime and delinquency prevention through education/training, job training and placement, and neighborhood improvement services. These services focus on building the capacity of individual service recipients, as well as enhancing the physical and social-economic environment in which the individual lives. CRH strongly believes in the intrinsic and intertwined relationship between physical/natural, economic/technological, and political and psycho-social aspects of the human environment. This relationship must be evident in any strategy, program or initiative to build people's capacity to excel in society. Coordinating and interfacing the referenced aspects of society in order to revitalize low-and moderate-income communities (LMICs), especially African-American communities, is one of the missions and challenges of CRH. CRH has developed an Integrative Community Development (ICD) model to test the hypothesis that crime and delinquency prevention must be a part of a broader network of services and programs in order to achieve significant improvement in the living and investment atmosphere of LMICs.
