Project Description:
Stormwater management improvements to control and treat urban runoff before it enters area surface waters including the Carrabelle River, St. George Sound and Apalachicola Bay. Project is located in a Rural Area of Critical Economic Concern

Is this a water project as described in Chapter 2002-291, Laws of Florida? Yes
Has the project been submitted to the Department of Environmental Protection? Yes
DEP Identfying Number: SW20022047

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Urban stormwater discharges from developed lands within the Carrabelle Area have never been controlled to limit the discharge of pollutants into Area Surfacewaters. A combination of land uses including junkyards, boatyards, business areas, gas stations and other pollutants generating land uses have contributed to poor water quality in the Carrabelle River and other receiving water bodies. The elimination of a substantial pollutant threat to these waters will significantly enhance the areas environmental conditions.
