| Project Description: |
| This project is intended to upgrade the conveyance capacity of the primary flood control system in Miami-Dade County and to retrofit antiquated county and municipal stormwater systems. Specific activities include the construction of a 980 acre retention basin in western Miami-Dade County and the maintenance dredging on portions of the C-4 canal up-stream of the S-25 structure. |

| Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
| The severe flooding that has occurred in this region of Miami-Dade County resulted in millions of dollars property damages, the flooding on hundreds of homes and the documented death of at least two individuals. It is anticipated that this project will significantly reduce the frequency, severity and duration of flooding events, and thereby minimize the risk to life and property. |
