Twenty (20) residential beds for short-term stabilization for individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders.

Is this a water project as described in Chapter 2002-291, Laws of Florida? No

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
The district with the highest unmet need for adult mental crisis stabilization unit beds is District 7 (Central Florida) with 25% of the State's total unmet need. The State formula states that 10 CSU beds are needed for every 100,000 residents, leaving District 7 with a shortfall of 41 beds. The 20 additional beds at the Central Receiving Center would provide adults in crisis with immediate access to emergency psychiatric services pending transfers for continued care and treatment. Summary: Bed capacity increased to meet need; equity issue addressed of district historically being under funded for adult mental health beds.
