Family Emergency Treatment Center

Requester: Julian Rice Organization: Mental Health Care, Inc.

Project Title: Family Emergency Treatment Center Date Submitted 1/15/2003 2:13:50 PM

Sponsors: Sebesta

Statewide Interest:
This project meets a documented need for immediate options for persons with mental illness and those with co-occurring disorders who do compensate due to lack of medication or inability to access an outpatient appointment timely. A Family Emergency Treatment Center in every urban Florida County would provide a tremendous cost saving to the State through reduced crisis admissions and jail diversion. Centers operating in Pinellas and other areas are already producing measurable results. The project has the support of the community.
