Statewide Interest:
Immediate access, for all Floridians, wo a poison specialist via a national 800 number for any type of poisoning. This is a 24 hours a day, 7 days/week operation which prevents emergency room visits. It reduces inappropriate use of emergency services as well as save health care dollars. Also, poison prevention and education awareness in the community is a major component of this program.

Enhance the existing funds for the 3 statewide poison information canters to provide for increased workload and expense of continuing operation of emergency information service.
