Project will encourage, enhance, and create economic benefits in terms of the movement of goods and services on US 27/441. The project will also enhance evacuation routes in and out of the Central Florida Region. The project will provide an alternate travel choice that will include public transportation and district-wide ITS Technology implementation.

Project Description:
Two mile improvement on County Road 466 - this improvement will provide an alternative parallel (east-west) corridor to CR 466A in both Lake and Sumter Counties. The two extra lanes will provide necessary additional capacity to relieve traffic congestion as well as provide interconnection to US 27/US441. The construction of several major developments is increasing in Lake County, especially the retirement community of The Villages. The Villages is creating a concentration of people in the corner of each of three counties (Lake, Sumter, and Marion) which has created a greater need for transportation facilities.
