Project Description:
Devise and launch an effective public awareness campaign to educate the Florida public about the prevalence of suicide in Florida. The campaign will also build awareness that suicide is a serious public health problem that is preventable as it can be a consequence of other treatable disorders such as depression, alcohol and drug abuse and certain medical conditions. In addition the campaign will increase awareness of risk factors, warning signs and available resources for help.

An increased public knowledge of suicide as a serious public health problem resulting in meeting the state's goal of reducing the incidence of suicide in Florida by one third by 2005.
