| Project Description: |
| Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) funds are being requested for planning dollars to renovate MCC's Art Classroom and Laboratory Building located on the Bradenton campus. Many of MCC's required General Education and Humanities related courses are taught within this facility as is Art Appreciation and a variety of artisan-specific seminars and workshops. In its current condition this facility does not provide an environment that is conducive to faculty teaching or student learning. Besides being ergonomically unfit, this building (due to its age) is requiring more maintenance attention and asoociated financial commitments each year. An upgrade is necessary to ensure user safety, to accomodate increased student and community usage, and to ensure the optimal use of campus space. |
