Project Description:
Regis House is requesting funding to expand it's programs and services to residents of NW Miami-Dade County who are uninsured and unable to receive needed intensive mental health treatment. Lack of resources and funding severely limits access to health care and social services preventing early diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic physical and mental conditions. Regis House expansion of services will need adequate funding for services specifically targeting for uninsured individuals at risk for serious and persistent mental illness, emotional disturbances, and other multiple long term service needs. Services will include intensive psycho-therapy and medication management in an outpatient setting which will decrease the burden of government in serving these individuals in an inpatient psychiatric hospital.
