This is achieved through a process of needs assessment and testing; individualized exercise prescription and the implementation of this individualized exercise program (consisting of individual workouts and group classes). This exercise program is part of a research project with Florida International University designed to show the most efficacious exercise to improve an elder person's fitness and health. The periodic retesting and resulting exercise prescription modification component of this program is truly innovative and will provide ground breaking research. The Program also provides for the screening of participants and the provision of case management services by licensed social workers when necessary. Additionally there are twice monthly helath related lectures, weekly cultural and social activities so as to provide a comprehensive approach for enhancement and improvement of all aspects of the participants' Quality of Life.
