| Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
| Liberty County Jail Facility is one of the oldest jail facilities in the State of Florida. This delapidated building is in violation of every building and fire code. County is in extreme jeapardy of law suits from inmates because of the unsafe and unhealthy conditions in the jail. Local Building Code and Fire Inspector is currently in the process of condemning the building. Liberty County Jail is currently over capacity and has inadequate facilities available to properly segregate female and male inmates. The County does not have the revenue base available to raise the funds locally to build the jail. Building a new facility will provide a safer facility for the inmates as well as provide better protection for the citizens of Liberty County. |
