| This project is a priority project under the Surface Water Improvement and Management Act. Lake Hancock contributes significant pollutant loads to the Peace River which is the primary drinking water source of over 200,000 people. Additionaly, the river flows into the Charlotte Harbor estuary which has been identified as an Estuary of National Significance. |
