| This County funded program (via dedicated property tax-MSTU) expands primary healthcare and in some cases, specialty care, to low income uninsured residents. In so doing, this program increases the health and welfare of residents, improves economic development through reduced work absenteeism, reduces overutilization of emergency medical services, leverages medical care by over 250 area volunteer doctors and increases utilization of area reduced-cost prescription drug programs. |
