Project Description:
The Empowerment Alliance of SW FLA CDC has implemented and/or funded programs related to housing, economic development, education and training and community image. Specific projects include: funding for small business development counselor in the rural and the development of a target industry analysis and marketing plan; funding for the consumer and credit counseling progam, develpment of a vocational scholarship program; development of 26 single family homes for los income families; provided funding for books for the Harlem Library and sought and recieved private funding; develpment and funding of tutoring program, fiscal for the Weed and Seed Program and nominating entity for the new Front Porch designation to revitalize south Immokalee.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
-The tutoring progam will raise the skill levels of students, measured through testing before and after the tutoring. -Residents are trained and educated to be employed in living wage jobs through vocational scholarship program, measured by the number of students entering and completing the programs. -Safe and affordable housing is provided to residents though the construction of 26 single family homes for low income families. -Residents are prepared and educated for homeownership thfouhg the consumer and credit counseling services measured by the number of residents who recieve counseling and mortgages. -Entrepeneurs are educated and prepared to start and operate a business as measured by the number of business owners who attend business counseling sessions with the Small Buisness Development Center and the formation of business plan for the Trucker's Association. -Residents are taking responsibility for and showing pride in their community as measured by landscaping and beautificiation projects, recreational improvements and a redevelopment plan for Harlem Academy Avenue. -Residnets are reducing criminal activity and drug use and revitalizing their community through the Weeds and Seed Strategy and the Front Porch Program in south Immokalee to redevelop that area.
