| Project Description: |
| New bridge crossing for the South Lake Trail. The South Lake Trail will connect the exisiting Clermont/Minneola Trail to the Orange County Trailhead and its trail network. The new bike/pedestrian bridge is expected to cross the Florida Turnpike adjacent to the existing CR 455 overpass. FDOT has appropriated $250,000 for design of the bridge and the 5 mile trail link from Minneloa to Orange County. FDOT has also appropriated an additional $750,000 toward trail construction. The Lake County Board of County Commissioners has begun part of the trail construction connecting the existing Minneola Trail to the Lake Sumter Community College/UCF Campus at a cost of approximately $650,000 at County expense. The Lake County Board of County Commissioners has also been acquiring right-of-way for the remaining connection linking Lake County to Orange County. |
