Project Description:
The Northern Palm Beach County Water Supply Plan Implementation projects are located in an area of Palm Beach County bounded on the south by the C-51 Canal and Southern Blvd., east of the L-8 Canal, west of the Atlantic Ocean and extends into Jonathan Dickinson State Park to the north. The projects include regional facilities such as L-8 Basin Storage and Loxahatchee Slough Restoration and Conveyance system improvements. These components minimize adverse estuarine discharges, improve water deliveries for environmental purposes and for public water supplies.

Has the project been submitted to the Department of Environmental Protection? Yes
DEP Identfying Number: SWR20022139

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Load reduction projections have not been quantified by project, however, the Loxahatchee River has been monitored for quality since the early 1970's. Twenty-two long-term monitoring stations were established and have been sampled throughout the marine, estuarine, and freshwater portions of the watershed. In 1995, the Loxahatchee River Environmental Control District consolidated 25 years of data and developed the Water Quality Baseline of the Loxahatchee River. When the proposed projects are constructed, improvements in the water quality of the Loxahatchee River will be measured through the existing water quality monitoring system and compared with the baseline.
