Statewide Interest: |
Inadequate capacity coupled with inflow/infiltration issues represent a potential threat to the environment. Implementation will protect the environment by ensuring that raw sewage is properly collected and treated. Odor control and equipment noise exist at current facility. Improvements will be designed to minimize noise and odor. Improvements necessary to provide at least Class B level sludge product, which also improves current situation. |

Project Description: |
This project includes plannig, administration, engineering and construction of improvement to the wastewater collection, treatment and reuse system within the City of Belleview. The City's treatment capacity is not sufficient. Planning associated with this request will allow the City to properly identify a solution for capacity and level of treatment that is environmentally sound, technically feasable, cost effective and able to be implemented and permitted. This project will ensure that the City of Belleview can provide adequate wastewater collection and treatment facilities for the community. |

Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
A ground water analysis identified exceedances of Maximum Contaminant Levels(MCL) for turbidity present in all of the monotoring wells. The improvements included in this project will include reliability and other features to minimize or eliminate the potential for future MCL exeedance issues. This project will minimize or eliminate the potential for backup of sewage into homes. An adequately sized sewer collection, treatment and reuse system will ensure that wastewater is properly collected, treated and disposed which provides public health protection. |
