Project Description:
Establish 2-1-1 service for Bay county (expanding to cover Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, and Washington counties in subsequent years). The 2-1-1 service will provide a "One Stop" call center to handle Information and Referral calls currently being handled by various human services agencies. In coordination with Florida Alliance of Information and Referral Services (FLAIRS), this project will integrate with the statewide 2-1-1 system. 2-1-1 provides community information for people of all ages on services ranging from: * Basic Human Needs: food banks, clothing closets and shelters * Physical and Mental Health Resources: health insurance programs, Medicaid and Medicare, maternal health, children's health insurance program, medical information lines, crisis intervention services, support groups, counseling, drug and alcohol intervention and rehabilitation * Employment Supports: financial assistance, job training, transportation assistance and education programs * Support for Older Americans or Persons with Disabilities: adult day care, congregate meals, Meals on Wheels, respite care, home health care, transportation, homemaker services * Children, Youth and Family Support Services: child care, after school programs, Head Start, family resource centers, summer camps and recreational programs, mentoring, tutoring, and protective services * Volunteer opportunities and donations
