Residents are referred by a community-wide "524-BEDS" phone hotline, medical and human services agencies, and a special police outreach drop-off program, which provides homeless individuals on the street an alternative to incarceration for minor infractions. Behavorial Health is a critical component of the the Center's homeless program. The Center houses approzximately 1,350 individuals each year. Over 60% of these individuals have substance abuse issues, mental health issues or both.
