Project Description:
Aquatic plants in the Harris Chain of Lakes are critical to the restoration of the area's fisheries. Nonnative aquatic plants also occur in the lakes and have resulted in a severe aquatic weed problem in the past. Once proposed water level fluctuation programs are initiated or if water clarity improves, the abundance of aquatic plants will increase and can be a problem. If these problems are not addressed quickly and definitively, public support for future fluctuation programs may change.
