Statewide Interest:
The wireless delivery of prescribed clinical gidelines for the proper treatment of congestive heart failure will allow the hospital to collect and analyze data to document improved outcomes for the patient. This data and analysis will be shared with the Patient Safety Authority which is currently under study by AHCA. Reference Section 36 of the CS for SB 2-D.2003.

Project Description:
In partnership with a private provider, Winter Haven Hospital seeks to embed its clinical guidelines for congestive heart failure within a clinical data delivery system. This would include access at any time via desk top computers and mobile devices such as personal digital assistants, laptop computers and even cell phones. The technology will also include electronic order sets for use at the moment of care. Better use of the clinical guidelines backed by evidence-based medicine will improve measureable outcomes for the patient.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
The hospital will be able to collect and analyze data that will demonstrate how clinical guidelines can gain wider compliance via this innovative approach. Patient outcomes will improve with greater use of evidence-based medicine guidelines.
