Statewide Interest: |
The ATC was established based on substantive legislation regarding charter technical career center partnerships between public school districts, community colleges and the private sector, namely local business and industry. The ATC provides regional, high-technology training for high-skill, high-wage jobs and provides exceptional acceleration opportunities for public high school students. Private local funds in the amount of $593,775 have been raised by the college since the partnership formalized. The funding request has been presented to both the Volusia Legislative Delegation and Flagler Legislative Delegation and the Florida Senate Education Appropriations Committee. |

Project Description: |
Operational funding to support high technology, high demand, high skill job training and to provide regional high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to significantly accelerate completion of a postsecondary degree. The ATC also serves as an economic development magnet in drawing new business and industry to the Volusia and Flagler areas. There are no "loss leader" programs at the ATC; all are state-of-the-art high technology and the current CCPF and FEFP funding rates so not support the educational programs at the ATC. |
