Project Description:
Christian Homes for Children, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable, non-profit organization that provides safe homes of love for abused children. Our mission is to provide a home for any child regardless of ethnic origin or origin condition. While most of our children come from court-mandated cases, we also make our homes available for any orphan. The uniqueness of Christian Homes for Children is its mission to provide a permanent foster care placement, recruiting siblings, and actually raising the children until they reach independent ans self-sufficiency as young adults. Many of children served have been determined by the department and the courts to be unable to return to the biological families and to be in need of long-term care. In addition to the benefits recognized by children who are a part of the Christian Homes for Children families, Christian Homes for Children helps to reduce the burden on the State of Florida's already overlaoded and failing foster care system, particularly in Miami-Dade County, which has larger numbers and percentages of foster children who are older and harder to place with traditional foster than in other districts of the Department of Children and Families. Likewise, adoptive placement for these children is much less likely in large numbers in Miami-Dade County than elsewhere in the State.
