Project Description:
Child Hope, Inc. provides support services to meet the expressed needs of foster families in South Florida. There are two main programs: The Oasis Project has provides more than 1,000 hours of counseling, consulting, training and moral to foster parents and their foster children. The Learning Center provides tutoring to foster children, most of whom are minority and all of whom are at-risk of educational failure.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Dependent children will be provided a structured support mechanism, counseling, emotional and moral support for foster parents. The goal is to increase the number of foster care graduates. A high number (45%) of foster children are failing in school. Child Hope, Inc. developed these programs to deal directly with two major problems existing within the Juvenile Dependency System (Foste Care System)in South Florida. Additional goals for development and care of the children will be in accord with existing contractural terms with Miami-Dade County Children's Services Board.
