Project Description:
Resurface or reconstruct Pinellas Avenue (Alt. 19) from Meres Blvd. north to the Pasco County line; esurface or reconstruct Tarpon Avenue from US 19 to Pinellas Avenue; and support the City's downtown redevelopment plan. The FDOT has determined that: (a) routine maintenance is due; (b) part of Pinellas Avenue is sinking into the wetland due to inadequate initial base construction; (c) drainage problems on Pinellas and Tarpon Avenues; and because of (b) above, the project was accelerated several years and, therefore, the City needs help funding its portion.

Make Pinellas Avenue safer for vehicular traffic; extend the life of both roadways through preventive maintenance; promote business development within the CRA.
