Project Description:
The Community Watch Program is a volunteer program that allows qualified members to patrol residential neighborhoods, paying close attention to suspicious and unusual activities. The Police Department provides the members with training, uniforms, equipment and vehicle(s), as available, to patrol neighborhoods The members will investigate occurred, non-violent crimes that are dispatched to them by the Police Department. With training, they may also assist at crime scenes, collect evidence, perform preliminary investigation, assist in administrative duties, participate in parades and aid the public in many other ways. This allows the sworn uniformed officers to concentrate their efforts on more severe or crucial calls. The members also act as Goodwill Ambassadors between the citizens of Titusville and the Titusville Police Department.
