Statewide Interest: |
Kinship care is the full-time care and nurturance of a child by a relative caregiver with the intent to safely maintain and strengthen the family unit, helping prevent children from entering foster care. To assist these unique families, the Florida Kinship Center develops, maintains, and disseminates a statewide database of resources, coordinates a network of kinship care support groups, provides training and technical assistance, and conducts research around best practices. These initiatives are designed to ensure the safety, stability, and permanence of children ages 0-18 being raised by grandparents and other relatives throughout Florida. |
