Terrace Community School Program Supplementation

Requester: John H. Olsen, DVM Organization: Terrace Community School Board

Project Title: Terrace Community School Program Supplementation Date Submitted 1/16/2004 2:41:17 PM

Sponsors: Crist

Statewide Interest:
Terrace Community School (TCS) is likely the most academically successful charter middle school in the state of Florida. The sixth, seventh, and eighth grades had the highest FCAT scores in each grade level in Hillsborough County and the state. In 2003, TCS was graded as an A school and was the only middle school in Hillsborough County receiving recognition for Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in the "Leave No Child Behind" Initiative. TCS serves as a model for other charter schools and traditional public schools across the state. Its relationship with Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI)at USF is unique and services as an example for other schools and a model for other museums around the state and country.
