| Project Description: |
| The Central Broward Water Quality Improvement project adresses the quality of surface waters discharging from the Central Broward Water Control District into SFWMD's C-11 canal, which ultimately dischrages in the Everglades PRotection Area. The project proposes to construct and operate water control structures and canal imporvements that will allow pollutants to settle out of the water collumn or be absorbed through biological processes. The areas where the improvements are proposed are older aread which do not have typical water control structures. Other benefits to this project include a reduction in volume of runoff discharging to the Everglades Protection Area and improved aquifer recharge. |
