| Project Description: |
| Implementation of a potable water ASR system that would not only enhance the city's potable water supply, but provide the region with an additional alternative supply of potable water. The concept of this program was established by a 1999 feasibility study funded by the Southwest Florida Water Management District, which recommended pursuing the ASR program. |

| By construction of the ASR well system, it is anticipated that during the rainy season approximately 1.0 million gallons per day will be stored in the ASR system to be utilized at a rate of up to 1.0 million gallons per day during the dry season, which will alleviate the need to utilize our surface waters during low flow times. (Project match of $499,250 from SWFWMD) |
