Project Description:
Services will include statewide implementation of 2 alternative therapeutic school/vocational programs for older foster care children or adolescents with behavioraland /or emotional problms. The 2 sites will partner with Florida based human services providers and community based care networks to ensure services are provided in concert with local resources for program match. Plans are to implement an academy in Woodville in partnership with DISC Village, Inc. in northern Florida and an academy in Rivendell in partnership with Human Services Association(HSA) located in central Florida. Each VisionQuest Life Corps Academy will provide 16 beds for a specialized vocational academy type environment. Partnerships with DISC Village and HSA will facilitate options for developing job skills in several areas , which include; construction,culinary arts,landscaping,automotive repair and computer operations.
