| Statewide Interest: |
| Due to the renewed hurricane activity in Florida, electrical failures caused by power line damage is Statewide issue. Temple Terrace experienced significant power outages during the 2004 hurricane season. The underground utility project proposed is the main feeder line down SR583 (56th St.) in Temple Terrace. In addition to improving the City's electrical reliability, the proposed project will also help Temple Terrace's redevelopment efforts. A new downtown for the City of Temple Terrace is planned as a pedestrian oriented, walkable community that will set an example of sustainable, urban development in an inner ring City. The project has generated national interest and will certainly be a focus of other communities in the State of Florida. |
