Project Description: |
This project will construct a large regional wet detention stormwater treatment facility to provide water quality treatment to a portion of th eLake Jackson Watershed that was developed prior to adoption of comprhensive stormwater management regulations. |

Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
This project will address lang standing stormwater quality and roadway flooding problems in the Fords Arm Overstreet Branch of Lake Jackson. The outcome of the project is the overall reduction in the nutrient and sediment loads reaching Lake Jackson along with enhanced roadways safety during adverse weather conditions. It continues the restoration of Lake Jackson, a State designated Outstanding Florida Waterway. In 1999/2000 a restoration effort was initated that resulted in th eremoval and disposal of approximately 2,000,000 cubic yards of accumalated nutirent rich bottom sediments. |
