Project Description:
Construction of a new 9200 sq. ft. home for pregnant, post-partum, and parenting women with children up to the age of 5 years old who are healing from various types of abuse. The services provided are individual, group, and family counseling, grief and anger work, self-esteem workshops, employment readiness, job skill training, GED preparation, relapse prevention and substance abuse education, nutrition and fitness, domestic violence counseling and education, HIV/AIDS/STD education, testing, and counseling, parenting and life skills, child play therapy, early childhood developmental testing, on-site childcare licensed by DCF, case management, transportation, residential housing up to 24 months, and aftercare services, which include finding permanent housing.
