This program will allow the Good Samaritan Clinic to provide heart medicine to low-income, uninsured patients in need of preventative care. The increased quality of medical care they recieve with this medication will result in a decrease in total health care costs to the state that would occur if they do not recieve proper treatment.

Project Description:
This program provides special medications for heart patients without insurance, ie plavix. It is a unique program that has community partnerships with three local hospitals. They send indigent patients who cannot afford care to the clinic for medical treatment.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Providing this medication to status post-open heart surgery (as well as other procedures preformed on the heart) will prevent blood clots and other heart problems which could lead to more invasive procedures. We will treat 90 patients per yr.with proper medication at a cost of 1920.00 per patient.
