Project Description: |
This project proposes the construction of a new 55,390 square foot addition to Walker Hall, the health sciences building located on Lee County Campus. The addition will provide space for two 24-stationary basic nursing laboratories, and one 24-stationary laboratory for an accelerated program, as well as an evening nursing program and a nursing program for "at-risk" students who may benefit from a slower-pace curriculum. There will also be five classrooms of varying sizes, two computer study laboratories for nursing, faculty and administrative offices,a health program, and career-assessment center.
Edison has seen significant demand generated within the district for the college to train more nurses. This project is survey-recommended in the College Department of Education Educational Plant Survey and can be found on the campus master plan. |
