| Project Description: |
| The purpose of this project is to construct a 200,000 gallon reclaimed water ground storage tank and pumping facilities near the southern boundary of the reuse system as shown on the following figure. The Marigold Road property is already owned by the City, and is large enough for the proposed facilities. These facilities are necessary because the water reclamation facility and existing reclaimed water storage and pumping facilities are located near the northern edge of the reclaimed water distribution system. Due to the geographical distances involved, adequate reuse system pressures in the southern portions cannot be supported by the existing facilities to allow the expansion of the reuse distribution system any further in that area. A 200,000 gallon concrete ground storage tank would be constructed to store reclaimed water for use during peak demand times. It would be filled during offpeak hours from the trunk reclaimed water main adjacent to the site. Two centrifugal pumps would pump reclaimed water from this tank, re-pressurize it to 75 psi and pump it back into the distribution system during peak demand periods. It is estimated that an additional 1,000 equivalent residential customers could be served by addition of these facilities, for a potable water savings of 400,000 gpd. |
