| In 2004, The Florida Public Health Foundation was established in 381.09 FSS. While the Foundation's purpose, mission, duties and board of directors were defined, no funding mechanism was established for the Foundation to carry out its mission. The Foundation has operated through volunteer efforts and grant funds to provide this statutorily mandated and worthwhile mission relating to public health for the citizens of Florida. The Foundation will continue to leverage grant dollars to continue its mission, but is seeking legislative funding assistance for necessary operating funds for the Foundation. |

| The Florida Public Health Foundation will work with the Florida Department of Health to heighten health awareness campaigns with national, state, and local health organizations. The foundation will partner with other public health organizations to obtain grant funds relating to public health for the citizens of Florida. |
